Thanks for the advise, I will start looking into it.

I have fitted an ARB winch bar (non SRS) to my 1994 Vogue SE (soft dash with SRS)
I am getting it engineered at present and it is posable to disconnect the SRS system. There is a loop hole in vic roads regs
Work with an engineer and they will advise you on what you can and cant do. Once you disconnect the SRS you can fit a standard ARB bull bar with no problems at all.
My RR has LRA long travel suspension kit,2.5" body lift kit etc etc etc. The only thing the engineer wont sign off is 35" tires. In Vic you can only get up to 33"s engineered.
After all the discussions I have had with the engineer I am using, we discussed how Land Rover state in the vehicles owners manual and service manual that once the air bags reach 10 years old they have to be replaced.
He advised me that air bags (SRS) can have up to a 30 year life span but with what Land Rover state in there manuals (replacement of air bags after 10 years) this would render the vehicle unroad worthy (if not replaced every 10 years) and if your insurer picked up on this could void your insurance. (highly unlikley for them to pick up on this I belive).
If you would like info on what I have done with setting up my car and getting it engineered pm me.
In my opinion it would be more cost effective to disconnect the SRS , fit a non SRS bull bar and get it engineered. Also remember any 4WD with a lift of more than 50mm whether it be body lift, suspension or tires has to be engineered to be legal. So if you plan on lifting it etc etc it will have to be engineered anyway to be legal.
Cheers Gavin
Sorry - no digi cam and not that clever.

Yes. I would go along with that. When I had finnished modifing my bull bar.[pressured by others].I pressented it to my friendly engineer and he informed me that a plate mod[qld] was not nessesary.Later I was talking to a LR Regional Manager, and quiried why I had done it , and implied that I had ruined a perfectly good bull bar.I had to make special recovery points. and now have to make a cradle for the winch. At the end of the day Iguess I have a nice looking bull bar thats only good to mount a CB radio ariel. But it does comply!!!!!!!
