    Something like this.

So you wouldn't like something like this?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

A friend a while ago tried/did similar to a datsun ute from memory.

Cost him over $2k and was terrible.
Speed wobble, sides too high and looked like a bit of a joke actually.
My question is why would you?
Unless it costs very little, the way my mates towed it just seems like a total waste of energy.

I wish you luck but make sure its roadworthy.
He took his off the road voluntarily, should have could have got a very nice brand newy for that money.

Let me see if I have this right?
You are trying to make a comparision between between a Datsun & Range Rover.
People have been converted many a Land Rover series into a trailer with no issues.
Please let me know where I can find ANY Trailer new or used capable of carrying a 1000 KG of firewood with coil springs/Koni Shocks and hydraulic disc brakes, 74 litre fuel tank and a fold down tail gate for 2 grand.

Please compare Apples with Apples or prepare to get flamed...

    Here is some progress.

If you leave the hitch on it, you can tow a second trailer with more firewood (on private property of course) Looking good.

Needs another foot or so on the front for balance. Prepared to sacrifice the front doors too?

That's why I'd use a second set of rear panels and tailgate skin up front.

You could always use the amber lights as clearance and the reversing as working lights to couple-uncouple at night!

looking at my rrc, if i saw to use it as a trailer i think i would be inclined to leave the front door on .weld up the back door and fill in the gap between the back door and panel and fill in the door handle

Thanks for flaming, thought as much.
I do admire your engineering, I did however just point out some issues a friend had who did very similar.

I wish you well and hope it all works out.
Oh and I did have coils in one trailer and ditched them for leafs as they were no where near as bouncy and carry way more weight.

On a different note I do have a spare treg trailer hitch that is just sitting there and unless my mate comes around and claims it.
