My intention is to turn my mud slinger down a bit so it still clears the timing cover so it stills works as a crud cover and rock stopper...

G'day Rich
Didnt bother with mine either (mud shield). Megajolts only been on the RR for 2 weeks (and hasnt been used in anger off road yet) so I havent seen how much mud etc will get in there and what the effects will be.
Going to try it off road this weekend so we will see how it goes.
Cheers

Hi All,
Been a while since I posted. About 1 year ago I megajolted my '76 5ltr Leyland 2 door after the distributor broke. I too bought EDIS from states, and trigger wheels from UK. Install took some clear thinking and some help from friends. I now have it with duel maps, and I highly recommend the conversion to Megasomething.
Re ign map, I think I have retarded too much as on acceleration, my gearstick would rattle making me think I had pinking. So next step is to advance a little to see what happens.
I now want to do away with the distributor, but don't know if I can simply cut it in half and make an alloy cap to cover leftovers. And does the shaft push up or pull down with pressure from camshaft/oil pump. Any advice welcome please.
Current project is ford thermo's which should get rid of the noise from the propeller up front..seized/buggered viscous..Next project might be injection and megasquirt.
So any tips on dist cut down appreciated.
regards,
Russell.

yeah, id like to do the same with my distributor also
Something like this guys. The best dizzy to have on any Rover V8
Had it made up the other day. Thermos a lot easier to get to now, with out the dizzy in the way.
Cheers Gavin
Thats really cool, I have sent my dizzy to get the same done. Yours doesn't need to drive the oil pump I gather?
Rich
Hi all,
Just a quick little update on the progress of my EDIS conversion. Adam my mate chopped the prince of darkness dizzy down and now I have a spud shaft to drive the oil pump. The shaft is supported by a repositioned bush in the top of the drive and the bottom is where is always is. A welsh plug is fitted to the top to seal it. The top extends 14mm above the clamping flange.

On another note I am still hunting for coils etc. I have found a local wrecker has a set of AU coilpacks with all the connectors he will sell me for $120. I still need to get sparkplug leads and a EDIS module. Does this sound like a good deal?
Cheers
