I have a stiff knob. Should I lube it up?

Every morning I grab my knob, and no matter how hard I pull it is difficult to get it in the right position so I can come (to work).

On the weekend I gave a ride to a young lady in the bush, and when the time came to get dirty, I found my other knob was also stiff. I had the girl have a yank on it, while I moved forwards and backwards to try and get it to pop.

She was thrusting my smaller knob back and forth, while I fiddled with my bigger knob. I was saying things like "come on, bitch" and "is it in?" and she was panting and getting tired.

At long last my little knob went "pop" and we both fell back, exhausted. Unfortunately with all this thrusting, she managed to rip the top of my little knob right off! Now that it was over, it was time to light up. (the CDL light)

My question is, if I used a bit of lube would my knob be easier to pop in? Perhaps I wouldn't get so tired, or have to change hands constantly or get someone to help me. My friends all laugh at my constantly stiff knob - especially after we have finished getting dirty and I want to pop my knob back out. Often it is stuck and everyone has to heave on my knob. Often I have to go backwards for a while before I extinguish my light.

So whats the go? Should I uncover my knob and lube it up, or should I look up my undercarriage and make sure there isn't something stuck up there?

And for those without a sense of humour:

My gear shifter and CDL lever are very difficult to operate. Is this a common problem? Can it be rectified by oiling or greasing up something?

Can I access the offending componentry from the cab after removing some trim, or should I crawl underneath?

We are talking about an '87 RRC with ZF Auto.

Bah ha. LMAO I think you just need to use your knob more. The more you use it the easier it is to get in and out.

not bad for a family forum

My little knob requires vacuum to operate but my big one can be a bit crunchy if I don't push hard enough with my foot.

sorry mate, I don't want to get involved with your knob, volumptuous rangas aren't my scene.

It's very unusual for your [ZF shifter] knob to be stiff. Be careful wrt to being too rough, I was a little rough on my girl and ended up tearing the membrane.

If it isn't the linkages that are stiff, pull the shifter housing assembly off the console and see how that is. Sometimes spilt drinks and an accumulation of crap can gum the film membrane up.

...which is bad because they're very hard to find and rather expensive. Also, is it the type that the button lifts up or the button is on the side? The ones with the the lift up button tend to get a bit funny c/w the t-bar type.

The selector cable on mine was virtually seized solid when I bought it. A new cable made the world of difference.

With all this talk of knobs, one could suggest that winter isn't the only thing that comes early in the Central Tablelands...

So laying some cable should free up my knob?

You may find after using lots of lube and with a bit more age the stiffness will subside some what

Is yours the LT230 or BW transfer?
