Now this will be interesting.
On the weekend, I changed the welsh plugs on my daughters Hyundai. The originals were steel, but the only replacements available were brass.
I have a range rover 3.5 bored and stroked to an 4.2 and I want to replace the welsh plugs before painting and detailing.
The problem is I have been given differing opinions on which plugs to use.
It appears to have steel plugs in it now and one parts guy told me that brass plugs are no good in these engines. any help would be greatly appreciated.![]()

replaced my 3.5 ones with steel ones from memory
I went to my local land Rover parts supplier and he gave me Brass, but since then other people have been telling me not to use brass plugs in an alloy block? Dunno why though, so im just a litle confused if i should put them in or not? I have already taken the crrok plug out, confused.
Better if you replace them with welch plugs.......![]()
