Not running a bit rich by any chance? Maybe not enough to be blowing any black smoke, but enough to make it a bit smelly?
just a quick question on my 93 range rover , she is running like a dream, but it has always had this smelly exhaust smell people who follow me out in the bush let me no about it, but she doesn't blow smoke and little oil use, just a fumy exhaust any ideas would be helpful thanks Luke.![]()

Is this on LPG gas?
Happy to be corrected here, but would an out of whack ECU temp sender cause over fuelling? Might not be totally stuffed, just feeding the ECU the wrong info...

It's not manual transmission is it, mine was dripping clutch fluid from the little hose off the slave cyl on to the exhaust, that really stunk like engine fumes, couldn't work out were it was coming from till the clutch stopped working!
I'd go with the running rich, have a look at the end of you exhaust pipe when cold is it coated with sooty deposits?
