As far as I can tell the slotted rotors on the front are working better than the old plain ones. Will be fitting slotted to the rear.

    cheers, DL

... increased tyre wear could be due to the slotted rotors biting a bit more than the solids... and therefor the tyres are doing the same....

Any noise issues with the 604V's ? Pardon the pun, but they're looking like a good all-rounder.

That's what's happening. The front rotors are slotted solid rotors, rears just stock solid. Saw no real advantage going to front slotted & vented.

Have no issues with noise but don't have much to compare with. Last tyres were some sort of Kumhos the same size.

    cheers, DL

The next lot of 604Vs will be my third set. Cheers.
Bridgestone were out of stock of these as of last Thusday - when I rang up for a set. None at any Australian stores - in a 16" of any size, but they said there was a container load coming in, so maybe its happened before?

Bad luck for them - I picked a set of good second hand ones up (about 70% tread) for $80 each. Given that I only drive the old girl a few thousand K's a year, these should last me for yonks.

    Cheers - Gav

Pirelli Scorpion ATR is the tyre of choice on my 94 LSE. Last set gave 60k of wear.

    Pirelli tyres

We ran Scorpions on the Classic '89 that we used to tow the 1 tonne sweeper with. - Very happy with wear and the nice soft ride.

    - Have'nt priced them yet... - Too busy fitting new air-springs and (standard) shocks to the EH... and running into a nasty quality control issue with the springs... Well, pretty daunting for a part-time d.i.y home mechanic spoilt with working on Japan's Finest Machinery!

    D-Day

    Decision Day this week...

My thanks to those who've contributed, has given me excellent direction & will make the choice easier!

New shocks (originals) have gone on, new rear airsprings on and running fine, fronts being installed tomorrow.

    - Well, good tyres deserve proper shocks/springs...
