73 RRC Do I need the Heat !

    Hello All
My reverse light switch LT95 ($20 from the motherland as and when ) but I can't get it out without removing the heater / dash / fan caper . My question is do I need the heater fan and all its gubbins , i've never used it I live in Queensland and have no need for it really but do I need it . Can I blank off / remove the pipes / close the circuit . I have the reverse lights rigged up to a switch but am going for Roadworthy (she's been in dry dock ) so maybe I could kill 2 birds
    Ie Fix the switch
    Remove some dead weight

I know I could bamboozle the rego guy as he is mobile by himself so cant test the reverse lights by himself but I'm too honest and thats not how I roll !

    Thanks Garfy

A working heater/demister is required for roadworthy as the '73 has an ADR compliance plate fitted. Try lowering the gearbox by undoing the mountings under the transfer case.
