If I were you, I'd be checking all the fusible links from after the battery that are all joined from the main battery lead, on the inside edge of the inner front guard before they get to the firewall. ALL mine were corroded as the outer wrapping had been wet and some were actually almost eaten through. That is the reason I had no rear demister and electric mirrors for a while.
