Thread: Electric memory seat problems again?

Think I've sorted it.

After leaving the battery to charge, all the seat controls now work I kept spraying contact cleaner for the electric mirror switch and my driver side works now but passenger doesn't. I thought the left hand side use to work but it couldn't because when I removed it I found it not plugged in because it had different connectors and fewer wires. So now I need to chase a left hand side electric mirror with the round plugs.

Still seems strange though as it had enough battery to start the car, maybe the ECU has to have high voltage to work properly and if down a bit strange things can happen?

If I were you, I'd be checking all the fusible links from after the battery that are all joined from the main battery lead, on the inside edge of the inner front guard before they get to the firewall. ALL mine were corroded as the outer wrapping had been wet and some were actually almost eaten through. That is the reason I had no rear demister and electric mirrors for a while.

Although I fixed all the fusible links near the battery about the same time I did the Seat ECU, Mine had corroded away aswell, my headlights weren't working so I got a cable tracer and toned back near the battery and then the tone stopped, and that's when I discovered that sinful mess of fusible links lol. I stripped back the fusible links and resoldered to a new battery cable, then sealed with circuit board sealer, heatshrinked everything. Hopefully that should be good for a while. Although my headlights don't work unless the engine is running, my parkers work and I can flash my headlights but the main beam doesn't work. this is not normal I take it.

The headlamps will not work when the key is off. The side lamps and flash will. This is normal from 1990/1 onwards I believe. Both my 1992 and 1993 have this feature. I am thinking about setting up the 110 to do the same.

Ahhhhh, this makes sense, so it wil work if I have the ignition switch on then. I've been testing with just the accessories, as I hate hearing the poor abs pump come on every few mins with the ignition on. (I've got a new accumulator ready to put in + today I found a small crack in the brake hose from ABS pump to reservoir which is why the pump runs for a few seconds every few minutes even though I'm not using the breaks. Ahhhh so many things to do.

if i have to do lots of testing on these, i just unplug the abs pump under the bonnet. just don't forget toplug it back in

Hi all, I'm hoping someone out there might be able to assist a damsel in distress. I have a 2006 Range Rover Sports TD2.7 V6 which currently has the previous owners seat settings which I'd like to change. I've followed the destructions in the manual but it doesn't seem to override the existing settings. Can anyone suggest how I might reset the seats? There must be a way to override the settings, there doesn't seem to be any issue with moving the seats, etc simply just overriding the existing settings. Please help as this is driving me batty!

We have some bad news for you... the seat isn't responsible fro driving you batty... you were already that way. If you were normal, sane and balanced you'd never have bought a Range Rover
But you've come to the right place, should only take a day or so to get a handful of answers !
