					Yep, the Greenies did  all this... but  my point is.... that we, the mentally lazy, myopic and stupid public let them do it.. whatever it was that they did.
 Not many folk were prepared to challenge their 'facts', or anyone elses for that matter...
 
 Greenies also promote - so I'm told - LPG - based refrigerants for enviromental and efficiency reasons.
 
 Did I say LPG? oops, sorry, should have used the magic identifier numbers so no-one knows what I'm referrring to....

 To add fuel to the fire... its ILLEAGAL to vent  *any* amount of refrigeration gas to the atmosphere... but seems its ok to use canned chiller-aerosols, some of  which contain..... R134a. and other R-rated refrigerant gasses.

					Topped up the wifes 92 Sherwood a couple of weeks ago. It loses a bit over winter. It is supposed to have R314 but I have a bottle of R413A that I use for the freezer in the camper. Used that and it works well.
 413 is supposed to be more suited to low temps to replace 12.
 Suck it in till the bubbles go, like 12. All Ok.

					Here is one I saved
 New Sanden Style 709 V- Belt Double Groove - Compressors
 This is exactly the same as a RRC compressor except the rear plate inlet/outlet point up while the RRC is horizontal. This does not matter on a RRC as the hoses are rubber.

					Well, that didn't last long.
 Test drove the car today and no aircon.
 Clutch not engaging.
 No volts at clutch
 12V at High/low pressure switch.
 Compressor works with switch bridged  but no cool air and only a few bubbles in the drier.
 Sigh!!!! No gas
 I have called the guy who will come early next week. I hope it is his problem with the new hose but have a bad feeling that it has sprung a (bad) leak somewhere else. I hope it is somewhere easy to get to.
 Iwill keep you posted

					Follow up.
 I found the leak  just having a quick look before the aircon guy came back.
 
 It was the crimped end of the high pressure hose to the drier at the drier end. As Greg said it was amazing that it didn't leak before or after he regassed it first as the crimp was quite loose.
 
 OK  now with another new hose and $189 later. Greg reckons for me to watch the compressor as he thinks it's on the way out. Oh Joy!!

			another follow up
		
			
				
					The aircon lasted about 2 days before being empty again!!!!!
 This time it looks like the compressor as I can see no evidence of leaking hoses, even by looking at the evaporator inlet and outlet with a borescope.
 I have to soon replace the camshaft so I will leave it empty so I can take out the condenser.
 SIIIIIIGH!!!
