Thread: upper tailgate strikers

hi guys , how easy is it to replace the upper strikers on a 92 rrc tailgate, ones missing the lug that sticks out and the other side looks different to the 84 model ones. is there a nut on the other side that will fall off when i undo the screws?any advice would help out. thanks tony

There is a slidy doova that goes up and down with 2 captive nuts.
I always AFAIR undo one screw, swing the striker around, then fit the new striker to the top or just put a screw back in to make sure it doesn't wander.
The later ones don't have the wing thingo on the end as the body doesn't flex as much as the frame is welded from 88 onwards.
