    any advance on 6 degrees,

    oh yes,

now set to 9 degrees advance and running the first (of many) tank of 98 octane, I cannot believe the difference, it's like all the best bits from my 'old' Rangie but now it goes like stink as well!

Cannot thank all of you enough, haven't had a chance to try towing the van again yet but now I'm looking forward to it rather than dreading it, Rangie actually feels like it could tow the house, never mind the van!

    thanks again

.. Great news Finallyrangie, - will try it too. Dunno what mine is set to. Maybe new plugs and leads would'nt go astray either.. done 155k now.

Now to try and find a thing called a "Timing Light" in the jumble that masquerades as my shed... :-(

Keep us posted. - particularly l./100km or mpg, depending on your vintage...
