What a bastard, know what you're going through as I lost my 90 Vogue SE to fire a couple of years back as well but it was a total loss :(:(:(
As a sort of positive, good opputunity to rid the Rangie of all the lucas crap wiring and add a few relays which they seriously lack on the earlier 2 door Rangies. Wiring is pretty simple, even a hack like me can do it :(
One of the first jobs on any old rangie is to remove any non-standard wiring, some people have no clue on electrical wiring better off DIY and doing it properly

Yeah, I know, I found out too late as well! The materials are called fluoroelastomers, and can be used as a rubber subsitute. It seems like they can cause nasty burns and skin damage once the material is burnt.
At least you didn't lose the whole car! My Rangie has plenty of dodgy wiring as well and I've spent a lot of time - with lots more to come - replacing it but I'm still worried I've missed something. I have a big fire extinguisher mounted in the back!
my air box and filters were burned and damaged in the fire, i was wondering if its worth putting filters like these on, save me fixing the old one, and maybe give it a bit more power?
im just worried about water coming up from the tyres/road/river into the filter.

Actually, tests have found that those original metal elbows give a bit of extra power, so the factory setup seems to be the best.
