My 88 hiline vs my 92 vogue. Which one?

Hi Gang i was wondering what are the main differences between the 88 hi line & a 92 vogue, apart from swaybars different transfer case & better interior trim?

I am currently running around in an 88 hiline she is beautiful, she has got the vitesse 4.2 v8 running Motec engine management which is an bugger to tune, LRA long range tank, 2 inch OME suspension front and rear ARB bars, and some other goodies. on the down side side her paint is starting to fade on the bonnet and roof and she has a bit of rust in her upper tailgate, bottom is perfect. and my trim is getting a bit old. The Chassis is solid very good.

I have recently aquired an 92 one owner Vogue, an white one, which has had an 4.6 lt crate engine installed, reco Auto and transfer case aswell. dual front batteries and an brake controller fitted, dual front custom made sill tanks holding 60 litres each, an ritter LPg system installed and updated in 97, with the tanks underneath & sitting next to an 40 lt petrol tank. She also came with an cargo barrier and great interior, including an good centre console The only downside is i dont like the look of the rear chassis and the two front foot wells were full of surface rust. The old owner has told me that the front heater core was replaced a couple of years ago too.

The vogue was an company vehicle set up for towing an van, so has 350,000 kms on the clock, and the crate motor was installed about 150,000,s ago. I do know that the rear diff has gone so i had to drive her home from victoria in 2wd and she ran like an dream (disconected the rear prop shaft)

I have since cleaned up the front floor pan and have sprayed an bitumen sealing agent over the whole floor, just to stop any other rust again.

My question is do i keep the 88 complete and use the running gear from the vogue? Or do i keep the Vogue and use the 88 for parts?
    BLOODY CONFUSED.

There are Pros and cons for both, PLEASE HELP?
Thinking of using the 88 because the 92 has to go to regency park for an vehicle inspection as it has VIC plates.
    Thanks Brynn

P.S If i keep the 88 i wont be using the LPG system because i wont long range touring, i will have a combined fuel of about 240 litres, so there will maybe be an complete LPG system up for sale.

To me, its a no brainer.
Go the 92 with the 4.6.
sell the other and use the $$$ to fix or get the later model just the way you like.
    I had both, a 88 and a 92 and 94 model.
88 was great and super simple but found the 92 more comfy, better seats(leather) more gadgets and the 4.6 which I also had is great especially if you have the high compression one.
Any chance you can refrain with the "an" prefix though?

.. its like being told that your tongue is HUGE an' totally fills up your mouth... an you can't stop feeeeeling it forevermore!

Is the 4.6 hi comp *that* much better than the 3,5 or 3.9 or 4.2 ? - Especially in the guzzling department...

How was it driving home in 2WD ? - How exactly did that work ?
