If its got the standard twin strombergs, leave them as is, don't fit a holley if you want to use it offroad.

Really nothing works in all circumstances as well as the Strombergs, except maybe SUs.
Forget Holley. They do not work.
I fitted "Federal" injection to my 77 and the results were underwhelming.
Pay the money you would have futiley spent on replacement on overhauling the carbs including new needles and main jets as they are now 35 years old.BTW, it should have the best version with an adjustable main jet, with 2 brass nuts under the bowl.

Yeah your right PhillipA , the early ones from a 76/77/78 non pollution , external main jet adjustment, but with the 82/83 pistons and needles , self centering . then add 2w synthetic oil to the pots for better response . Actually Ive always found the 82/83 carbs to stay in adjustment/tune better than the early types and you dont get all those fuel leaks from the main jet holder and main jet adjuster o-rings , you need the needle adjusting tool (sometimes a allen key and sometimes a female slot , just make sure you dont rip the diapragm )

When I bought my '75 2-door, one of the first things I did was to send the carbies down to "Carby Sales and Service" in Adelaide, for a re-furb and bench flow. Cost me less than $200 at the time, and she ran like a new vehicle afterwards.
