2 door 3.9lt engine transplant
I am in the process of replacing the every tired 3.5 lt with a rebuilt 3.9lt. this came with a set of extractors. the problem I have is this. The extractors will not fit the square style g/box cross member.
option1. Will the later round style be any better.
option 2. Modify the original to make it fit.
option 3. Make one up!!
At this stage I am at a bit of a loose end when it comes to inspiration.
cheers and thanks

AFAIK 3.9 extractors go under the cross member.
I think that the ZF is bigger than the LT95 or whatever.
It should fit with a 3.9 crossmember but I do not know whether a 3.9 crossmember fits the location bolts .
Why not just have an exhaust place bend the extractors under the crossmember.

The round section cross member will go on the lower pair of chassis holes on each rail. Only a couple of inches high, i.e. no more than an inch above and below the chassis mount hole centres. This info should let you see if the extractors will fit above it.
Easier to fit one of these than chop and weld extractors.
I have one here that may or may not be genuine. Its just a tube with a plate / strip on each end with two holes in each plate. Easy to make, can email pics if you want.
cheers, DL

G`day
Our 85 4 door in this area is the same as your 2 door , no matter the year .
It has a round member replacing the box for the same reason .
The extractors and/or std 3.9 exhaust go under , 3.5s all go above , std .
Ours is held by all four bolts as with the box , just needs the holes drilling .
Had to cut a scallop out and reweld to clear the TF auto .
Fitted the entire 3.9 system , so changed/made all different hangers .
Only problem you may have is the step up to where your existing pipe/pipes are and that will depend if you have the Y piece with the extractors as to if you step the single pipe after or the Y .
So i`d suggest fit a round or make one , whatever takes your fancy .
Cheers
