lt77 has reverse next to 1st gear, r380 has reverse next to 4th
Good day!
Got an old Range that's been fitted with a 3.9efi and 5 speed box. Will post pictures later, but does anyone know how to tell the difference between lt77 and r380 box? Gears also crunch when downshifting between 3rd and 2nd, unless done at standstill or by double declutching. Hope its just low fluid, but if worn synchro, is it an easy repair?
Paint is a mess and interior tatty but solid chassis and drives well, even with twin rear shocks in a 'v' arrangement. Will these limit articulation?
Not sure if the speedo is accurate, but along with the fuel gauge is the only gauge that 'works'. None of the dash lights e.g. indicator or any of the warning lights work. Hopefully easy to fix.
Oh yeah, door locks don't work either!

r380 reverse is right and back lt77 is left and forward
If you go to first at a set of traffic lights but go in reverse instead of forward when you take off, you have a LT77.
