I haven't seen them on the RRC but the ones one the P38A stay in place.
I want to remove all four wheels to get ready for a bleed.
The nuts seem to have some sort of decorative embellishment cap on them.
Are they removable or do I put the rattle gun on them?

RIP Bucko - Riding on Forever
Newer type but imperial thread ( RRC) wheel nuts for alloys are the same as P38's & D2 in style - the stainless steel covering is a permanent part of the assembly.
If one of the 5 nuts looks 'different' - that'll be your locking wheel nut, and the cover does come off that one....
This is very curious, as the wheel brace that came with the car is too small to fit the nuts indicating there are smaller nuts beneath the caps.
I thought it was a 27mm but that doesn't fit cleanly. And the caps are showing no signs of having been undone eg scuffs etc.
In fact, the caps look as if they will disintegrate or distort if I apply some decent torque to them.
Will Rave1 help?
I'll have a look.
The caps are stainless steel
Go down to the local tool store and buy a socket to fit it ... They should have the 6 sided socket (impact socket) ... Try not to use a 12 point socket .... Imperial will fit best from memory
I found the correct socket at my local pawn shop for $2 ... bought 3 of them![]()
Those wheel nuts are the same as Disco 1 update model ones, from 94 on.
The RRC threads are the same as D1 models.
The caps do not come off unless you break them.
They quite often appear loose on the underneath nuts, but they definitely don't come off.
Just put the right size socket or D1 wheel spanner straight on and undo as usual.
Also, none of the five nuts in the pic appear to be locking ones.
The locking nuts for the RRC & D1 look identical to the others (mine do at least).
I put the locking one at the tyre valve position so I know which one it is.

Geez!
I'd better put the rattle gun back in the drawer till I sort out the lock-nut mystery!
There's no rush as my ABS pump is not due back from the US for 2-3 weeks.
I've ordered a wheel nut brace from Garyclr on eBay (amongst other stuff) & will undo them very gingerly lest I shear something.
Thanks to all contributors!
forget the wheel brace, it will turn into a pretzle at the most inconvenient time.
invest your money in a good 27mm (or 1+1/16th inch) deep reach impact socket, a breaker bar and a torque wrench.
the wheel nuts on those alloys get done up to 100nM
I m not a fan of the locking nut the special socket has a habit of letting go at inconvenient times, I suggest replacing the locking nut
