1989 Classic: Coolant light flashing = No indicators
I'm having a mare with my indicators, the coolant level warning light flashes intermittently and then the indicators don't won't. Hazards work fine.
When it's not flashing, the indicators are all good.
The coolant level switch wiring (both green/yellow) were twisted together and in a bad way, so stripped those back and re-joined still no good.
Have tried another flasher unit and indicator stalks all to no avail.
Anyone else had the same issue?

I used to own a 89RRC and spent some time on it's electrics - try looking at the instrument pod - in particular the multi pin connector and the printed circuit linking the various warning lights. If the flasher unit connection to the pod gets another ground instead of the bulb it's supposed to light up, that could stop it functioning. As to the coolant level - if the float isn't floating as it should then that can trigger the low coolant light. Use a paperclip or similar to join the two wires and see what difference that makes on the flasher.
The WSM on disc in 'shop' is very good idea- it has a circuit diagrams so you can trace everything.
