    Repowering a rrc

    Hay all,
Just asking the question with regards to putting a 3.9 in a 3.5 rrc with the flapper style ecu etc? Can you do it or does it mean changing airflow and ecu etc, is it easy???

    Or

I can get ahold of a 4.6 out of a 1998, was thinking of using an aftermarket ecu like haltech or the like. Has anyone done this? And what is there to change? I rang up les rico d and they said I have to change cams and ecu.
I was thinking of using the aftermarket ecu so I can run engine and use standard cam.

    Cheers Nat

Dunno about the 3.9 but I put a long stroke 4.2 into a flapper 3.5 RRC and it runs very well.

Program? Dunno anything about that. It mainly goes on gas, owner isn't a rev head. You do know you can lift the cover off the MAF and fiddle with the springs? It's all mechanical in there. You can change some settings that way. Rev the knickers off it with the cover off the MAF, it may not even go full travel.

    flap airflow meter

You shouldnt have to sdjust the airflow meter unless its backfired on gas it can jump a tooth on the wheel, but more likely bend the flap!
