I use Permatex Blue of valley end seals,

Permatex Gold on exhaust manifolds.( takes high temps)

Permatex Form a Gasket on the sump.( great stuff)

Loctite 515 on any flanges eg the axle to axle end flange and the hub flanges, and the diff.

Loctite thread sealant on wait for it , threads.

Hylomar blue in a spray can on the valley gaskets, although the composite ones do not seem to need it, and a spray coat on both sides of the timing case and water pump gaskets.

    sealers

In the workshop we use sikaflex on sumps(they never leak)
Permatex #3 on water pump gaskets
Loctite flange sealer around the water jackets on the valley tray (only use tin valley trays as the coating comes off the composite and can block the oil pickup)
ATV silicone on valley end seals (or sikaflex if the motor has a bit of blowby)
    Antiseaze on sparkplug threads
ATV on most gaskets except the individual exhaust gaskets
Coppercoat or hylomar spray on all head gaskets
GM threadsealer if doing headbolts that go into waterjackets, eg chev v8
Permatex #3 on the plenumm chamber, or loctite flange sealer.
ATV silicone never goes near petrol!
And the teflon thread sealer paste on gas fittings
