Looks good
Did you find a GPS speedo to use long term?
This is what how i have setup my dash, still yet to do the wiring side of things yet, but i have a VDO titanium speedo, tacho and fuel gauge, then 2 aeroforce OBDII gauges at the top - took some trial and error getting it to look right to see all the gauges through the smaller steering wheel and i had to give up on using the defender indicator panel so i will need to put in some LEDs show blinkers, high beam, CDL etc etc.

Looks good
Did you consider the OBDII gauges at all? those 2 gauges all capable or showing almost anything from the ECU
No not really, This build was kept on the cheap and we already had those gauges on the shelf.
Well everyone its been a while but all well and good. Been have a ball in the RRC and the LS1 is so much fun. The only issue we had was blowing a rear axle which was from trying to climb a very hard rock face in 3rd at 5000 rpm. Only took 3 hours in the bush to change then back into it.
I lost track of this thread for a while. It's great to see that you got it finished! Yes, it's worth hacking away at these things until that magic moment when you can drive it down the street. And there always seems to be some small disaster or another.
Hint: don't sell it.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
This is awesome! I once wired an RB25T into a VL Commodore. It was such an achievement considering the wiring diagram was mostly in Japanese.
I swore I'd never do an non-standard engine swap ever again after that and our engine mounts didn't require modification unlike yours.
The hat comes off for you mate. Congratulations!
Absolutely brilliant thread, I've had a few knock backs with my rangie classic of late, and currently on my third engine, but this engine conversion has been on my mind non stop for 6 months now, and to read that someone else has done it with success is great! Especially still good later down the line.
I would like to contact you regarding this conversion, as you can probably guess, I have a few questions! Lol.
Would you mind?
Cheers
And good job![]()
Hey mate,
Great conversion,
Im currently collecting all the stuff to do this conversion on my rangie. Just wondering what sump did you use? Standard commodre ls1 sump or the truck sump (HQ style). and how did you go with the clearance of your power steering pump. Have you got any pics of your engine mount design.
Cheers
Geeman
