My sunroof has, up to now, worked perfectly. 'Now' has it moving about half an inch back then coming up against something solid. The other function, to raise the rear edge still works fine. - just will not proceed to the rearmost position.
Because I thought I heard a soft 'thud' from the RH rear, I looked around as much as possible... and found this little thingy .
Anyone else experienced such a Bit Falling Off and knows damage it portends, and where it normally lives?
I also noticed that there is a dress piece on the LH side, that attempts to hide the mechanism, but its mis ing on the RH side.
Never heard any sproings, snaps or bangs, just the glass stopping suddenly in its track. (Sorry, too obvious a pun to pass up)
Ideas anyone?
Its closed and water-tight at the moment, and I'm inclined to leave it that way... reckon its an undersized sunroof to be of any value.
looks like it could be the slide shoe. when the sunroof is as far open as you can get it. is the opened gap the same on both sides? ie drivers and passengers. the sunroof might be retracting on an angle due to the slide shoe being absent on one side.
Forget the borescope.. will need a lottery win to replace these little gizmos...
- Found on a headlining company website... - spelling is, well, American.
"Their are a total of #4 Plastic Sliding Clips that hold your sunroof panel into the Sunroof Rails from the factory. If when Removing and Recovering the Sunroof Panel your likly to Break at least one of these and will need to have them on hand to complete the Sunroof Panel Installation."
