    Parts swapability. Classic V D1

I have a '86 Classic as a daily driver. On Sunday i picked up an unregoed '92 Disco, 3.5 auto, power windows, reasonable interior, a few leaks (transfer/ steer box) standard bar a set of Bilstein shocks. It starts, runs and drives well, no bad noises and with a polish the body would be very tidy.

Idea was transplant the auto into my Rangie. What other parts would be transferable into the Rangie. Guess what i'm trying to work out is to i raid it for parts or leave it whole. Swmbo also has a Disco, '95 model.

My classic is a bit rough around the edges, but i like it

Just about every mechanical bit is similar.
    Axles, steering, motor.
AFAIK The auto is upgraded on a 92 Disco from a 2HP22 to a 4HP22 but I am not sure of this, but they are functionally the same anyway, except the lockup will be at 85Kmh.
The injection on the Disco is a 14CUX which is more modern than your old flapper and can be transplanted with some effort.

Is swapping the injection a worthwile upgrade, considering the effort involved and the fact that the rangie is now running pretty sweet as is?

Power windows??? Mines still has manual winders.

If you are happy with it leave it.

A main reason for changing is that parts for the flapper eg the flapper, are now very hard to get and or expensive.eg cold start timer . So if it goes wrong and you have another injection on hand it is probably cheaper to switch than fix.
