Too hot or humid here too often ( or I have gotten real soft) to not have a/c. I got a brand New York on flea Bay turned out was from ULR getting rid of old stock.as car is completely stripped and all old HVAC units I can find have issues, have a Vintage air evaporator ordered. So should work fingers crossed:o
You just named the reason I live down South - hot I don't mind so much, but I can't do humid. Until it gets to about 35 you can get away with just rolling down your windows here. :)
I've got the a/c compressor from the 3.9 that inlet manifold came from.
There's some pipes there as well.
Thanks mate - I'll take a look at the lines if you don't mind - I just need 1 - they have a strange fitting on them.
Humidity isn't all that bad, uncomfortable but manageable and I work outside on building sites both in QLD and here. You get used to it after a year or two but it's not for everyone.Quote:

and change all the 'O' rings while the dash and A/C is apart. Buy a universal receiver drier that will bolt up in the same position as the one fitted (ie: measure the threaded fittings and make sure it'll bolt up) eg:

Don't fit it !!!! Leave it capped, it has a moisture absorbing desiccant inside.
Then next time you come up to ballarat we can see if it'll hold a vacuum. If it does we can fit the new drier and throw a shot of bang gas into it ( HR12 ... Hychill -30 ). It's only about $10 bucks worth of gas to charge up an automotive air conditioner system with hychill. If you have a sanden SD7 compressor. The directions to change it's oil is online (leave this to the last minute too as the oil is very hygroscopic ).

PS: That's if you don't have the A/C gear there yourself. Someone in your area might have the gear and speak up too and save you a drive to ballarat :)
Thanks Shane - I'm up at Ballarat quite a bit, so I may take you up on that once I have everything together for it. :)
I really only need one fitting for the compressor and a couple of small hoses made up to connect to the existing lines so I'll get that sorted and bring the beast up for a drive. :)
Hopefully before Summers over... :D
No worries, if you need lines made up I have found Ballarat Auto air up in Martin Drive in Ballarat are incredibly helpful. Even when dealing with someone bumbling along trying to do this stuff themselves (like I am).Quote:

Well, all the soundproofing is done and all the seats are back in. Can't do too much more to the inside now until the carpets are made up. Hopefully that will be soon.
So, I'm off down the street in it - wish me luck.... :D
Made it there and back - just...
Started to get hot on the way home when sitting in traffic (95 ish) but cooled down once I was doing 50. Just checked - the viscous fan is basically free wheeling, so I think that's the issue.
One more thing to go on the list...
