Hi,
Haynes says there are two nuts that are only accessible from the engine bay. Doesn't say you have to remove the heater.
cheers, DL
So, I've struck a small snag, and I think I know the answer, but I am hoping that someone can confirm this before I start ripping anything else out.
The engine and gearbox are coming out to be replaced, and I was going to pull everything out the front - I probably still will, but as part of this work, I am tidying the interior up a bit as well, and when I pulled the carpets up, there is a bit of rust that needs attending to on the floor panel - the removalable bit. So, I've got everything unbolted, and ready to pull out, but it won't come out - it seems to be stuck on the top bit under the dash - and I'm thinking (dreading) that there is a screw or two right up the top there that will mean I have to pull the heater out to get to them...
Am I right here, or am I missing something that is easier....
Hoping it is the later, but fearing it is the former. Can anyone shed some light on this? My manuals don't cover pulling this panel out.
Thanks heaps - Gav

The simple answer is there are 2 screws up under the heater one on either side that hold the floor in , so remove the heater or get a long screwdiver and lever it out and tear out the floor. Most people never put them back. Use plenty of sealant when u reinstall.

Think of it as a great time to put in lots of heatshielding and soundproofing.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
