89 Auto, and difficult to start in park

If I wiggle the shift lever around it will start if it's just in the right position in park.
If I set it to drive it generally starts ok every time.

Is there a simple fix, but or some bad mojo, inside my auto, and and I just have to keep shifting to D, to start?

Loose inhibitor switch - a plastic part under the console, easily replaced.
