    88 rrc child seat restraint

Can anyone please confirm for me where the child seat restraint is in a 88 rangie. Im guessing its the two holes above the back windows. Is this right ?

Or is it best to use the same spot as where the seat beats bolt in the floor

you need to check in the handbook to see where to mount a child restraint. sorry i dont have one for your year of range rover.

I have an 89 classic & the child restraint is fitted above the rear tail gate attached to the roof. Has a QLD mod complience plate which I thought was for the lift but on looking it up was for child restraint.

Some models had reinforced anchor points fitted in the rear roof section above the tailgate- where the radio speakers are- but earlier models had to have them installed as an engineered modification complete with reinforcing. Not 100% sure but I don't think the 88 model had anchor points from the factory. On much earlier models the thing was to have a steel bar fitted across the interior of the vehicle behind the top of the back seat and the child restraints were anchored to that.

Just had a look in the owner's handbook from my 1988 Rangie- may it rest in peace- and the section on child restraints makes no mention of installed anchor points. Pretty sure they need to be aftermarket installed on that model.

I've got 3 88 Rangies a Jan build, September & December the earlier one has the old style interior like a 87 model and no restraint mounts the latter ones both have them above the rear window, they are threaded behind plugs. Both the newer ones have the later interior style so going by that if yours has 89 onward style door trims etc it should have them up near the back speakers.
