Wont start
hey everyone..i have a 87 rangie with dual batteries...
1 battery i have just replaced , and Something is draining the batteries so i have to isolate so the batterys dont go flat overnight..
Now with charging both batterys the car will not start .you can hear the solinoid click but power is not getting to the starter,,enough power to crank..
I have tried everything.. I did think it was the starter but after testing it its fine so I am lost
Can anyone help please...

Well, first place a Multimeter on the battery + or - in 10Amp format to see what the drain is.
Disconnect the alternator and see if the drain is through the diodes as I suspect it is. If it is the alternator , then replace or repair it.
If it is not the alternator check each circuit indiuvidually.
If you are only getting a click from the starter, I would check all of the earths by detaching each end and cleaning. There should be an earth from chassis to engine behind the starter and this is often left disconnected after changing engines.
Another way to check the earths is to run jumper lead from the battery - to the engine.
I am assuming of course that you have cleaned the battery posts and they don't have white goop all over them, and have checked the connection from battery + to starter.
