    New cam

    Just fitted a stage 1 cam from Clive cams in Ferntree Gully in Vic. and a new set of lifters and reset the timing to 12 btdc as i'm on LPG so far traveled 600klms and getting 17 liters per 100 the cam gives more power between 1500 and 3500 rpm

    cost

    $338 for the cam $138 for lifters and $100 for new timing chain and gears
    I'm looking forward to see how it tows the caravan now.

    17 lts per 100ks sounds thirsty to me.Is that on gas or petrol?Had an 86 hiline engine rebuilt about 10 yrs ago,crane cam,[dont remember which one],9:1 pistons and i got 27mpg on a trip once,whatever that is in lts/100k.Cam came in at 2500 rpm and felt like a turbo.Was more economical at 110kmh than at 90.Petrol only.
