The idling issue is probably different to the others and is quite common.
The usual cause is a dirty or dying Stepper motor.
This is located at the RH rear of the plenum chamber with 4 wires going to it. Do NOT try to pull out the shaft as it screws out and is controlled by a stepper circuit in the ECU.
Unscrew it and clean the housing with some brake cleaner and cotton buds and clean up the "cone" as well. It is also a good idea to undo the rubber hose from the MAF to the throttle body and clean inside around the throttle blade and the blade itself.
If this doesn't help or helps a little, then you probably need a new stepper motor. They are now cheap on ebay but be careful as I have a had a mixed experience with these, but to be fair , the most recent I bought is good. They are the same as many GM cars.

PS The instruments etc are probably a bad earth somewhere.
