Thread: RR and Disco 1 engine

Can anyone tell me if the 3.9L EFI Disco 1 engine is the same engine as the 1993 RR 3.9L EFI. Will it mate directly with the RR auto transmission?

Yes no difference at all unless you are wanting to fit a later serpentine belt 3.9 in place of an earlier 4 belt engine, then wiring harnesses etc etc are all very different. Basically, early D1 up until 1993/4, 3.5 and first of the 3.9 will fit directly into RRC of equivalent model year.
