    5 Speed rebuild

    My 1988 RRC has a 5 speed manual with buggered synchro's. Apparently I'm not the first one to have this problem. But at least it does have an output shaft mod so it does not strip.

    I'm in East Melbourne. I'd like to know somewhere I can purchase a rebuild kit or another alternative.

    I'm pulling the manual out of my blue Rangie and putting it into my silver one that currently has a 4 speed auto.

    Ashcroft do rebuild kits for them!

    google them. theres heaps of stuff!

    Is the box an LT77 or the R380? If it is the LT77, I would stick with the auto - much stronger...

    I'd be looking for an R380 out of a Disco 1/2 V8.

    Much more reliable in the long term.
