Stating the obvious.... the light is on because there is a malfunction... Or lost connection, or intermittttant connector somewhere.

I set mine off by powering up the system - with one airbag disconnected. Naturally I realized the error of my way immediately after doing so.

A piece of black insulation tape placed over the light.....

Discoweb would probably would be a good choice. Anyway, the 1995 rrc and d1 use a similar system. Depending on the fault it might be easy to repair or nearly impossible, due to the costs associated with the parts.

On my D1, the fault was the rotary coupler under the strering wheel. I knew it was failing because first my cruise control stopped working, then the SRS light came one, and finally my horn stopped working. I repaced the coupler and the light turned itself off.

I've heard some faults don't seem to want to reset after fixing the issue, and even with the proper computer the light won't go off. In those cases replacing the computer is probably the only resolution.

Mmm, long wheelbase soft-dash.....very nice. I've just sold my soft-dash classic, beautiful car. I had the SRS light reset after removing and lubricating the spiral cassette without first disconnecting the battery, the guy who did it for me borrowed a testbook system or similar from someone else. Don't know of any cheat method. I'm surprised the dealers don't have the ability to reset faults on the earlier models. Perhaps you could remove the SRS ECU and send it to someone like Great Basin Rovers over there?
