Why not send yours to this place for a rebuild? FAST Intelligent Auto Repair | Tucson Land Rover, Jaguar, Prius, Mini repair | Specialists

Cost me 300 bucks including postage a few months ago. Took nearly 3 weeks though but came back like new.. very happy!

    I Concur!

I had mine done there also. He beats the crap out of paying $1500 (?) for a new one! (But it took a bit more than 3 weeks to turn around).

Plus I got a new accumulator.

He also has a well written booklet that expertly explains the history of power assisted brakes and the bleeding procedure for RRC's that is well worth the 30 something bucks he charges.

    Hey guys.
Did you send the accumulator too?
What postage system did you use to cost only $30?
    Cheers

    Bumping up this thread also.

Seems I will be acquiring a 1992 RRC Vogue with ABS. The current owner is convinced that the ABS pump has packed up. From what I can tell so far, the pump was constantly running, perhaps due to faulty accumulator or solenoid.

I have contacted the mob in the USA for an estimate on time and $$ for rebuild. http://www.falconworks.net/britold/brit.htm
Has anyone else done this recently?

Am getting a quote for some extended braided brake lines and new accumulator whilst I'm at it (island4x4)

    Got a response from them:

    thanks! Polly
So, min cost $285USD and max $685USD, plus postage to get it there.

Fingers crossed its only a minor issue...might even find the pump is fine and I don't need to send it!

Right, got my new accumulator and fitted it, but have found that the pump (when it works) leaks and pumps brake fluid everywhere.

I guess that I will be sending it away for diagnosis and repair after all.
