Finding a classic

Hi guys, been super busy with work and moving (loving Tassie) the rangie took the back seat for a few months. It worked out good and gave me a chance to make up my mind whether to restore or re buy. On my last break I started removing the interior. So I guess it's restore. There is to few around to let it go and being a range nut can't let it go to waste. The worst of the rust is in the rear cargo area around the filler on the floor. The rest seems to be pretty good. Getting excited now I've started but sourcing parts could be fun down south away from the main land. All the interior parts are restorable bar the flooring, footwell plastics, seat surround and the speedo box. The exterior is the challenging bit, the arches are cut (need replacing), a tree fell on the bonnet about 2 years ago and it's sporting an arb front and rear bar which is no good for a resto. So if any fellow Tasmanians share the passion a point in the right direction would be great.

Ps. drove beautifully from Mornington Peninsula to the ferry then from Devonport to south of Hobart after sitting for 2 years, new battery and new fuel and away she went. Smile on the dial the whole way :D love that carbie v8.

For some reason - I think that dodgey upper tailgate seal - they all seem to rust in that area around the fuel filler cover. For mine, I'm planning on taking out the fuel tank, (it's probably hiding some chassis rust anyway), and fixing the whole area.

Just thought I'd update my progress, I was on gumtree a couple of days ago and found a donor car its a 79. It seems to have a lot of the bits I need all the quarters, front and rear bumpers, plastic sills, bonnet and original rims. The fellow was nice enough to send through some photos so I bought it unseen 😬 for the price can't go wrong can I 😬. It's missing gearbox diff centres carbies (damn i need those mines got rover ones) and front windscreen. I'm definitely happier about it than my wife:D

Suppose ill have to start putting photos up.

Hi guys just thought I'd let you know there is a 77 classic on Classic throttle shop looks very nice, if anyone's looking for a car of that standard. It looks very nice but wouldn't call it a bargain!
