    Viscus diff locks

    Hi all
    Just a question
What are the viscus diff locks like when being used in a true 4x4 situation
I have a 90 rangie with one and I plan on lifting her and as a tourer with good lift and 34s
    Any help would be nice
    Thanks Nathan

    They can be problematic!
But to be honest I found them fine for the off road work I was doing. Even when I had 37s and no lockers.

With a rear locker only you can experience some excess distribution to the front wheels when slow going on steep uphill climbs, but I found once both axles were in motion it was fine.

The viscous coupling are not actually a diff lock, they just allow a little bit of variation in drive between front and rear prop shafts.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

A lot of people retrofit the LT230 transfer box from a Disco 1 in place of the original RRc Borg Warner tranfser when they intend to do serious 4X4.
