Range rover snorkel, extractors on fuel economy/power

    Hi all,

Does anybody have first hand knowledge of what effect extractors and a snorkel will do to fuel econeomy and power on a 1990 range rover classic V8.

    Thanks,

Marginal increase in power and maybe economy depending on how you drive it.

Intake mods can't affect economy. Any marginal increase/decrease in resistance is countered by the throttle being marginally more open/closed so the total airflow at cruise remains the same.

If you want real improvements, look at compression ratio. Each extra whole point of compression can be worth 10% in torque and not far off that in economy.

I have extractors on my 93 classic and I can't say they make much noticable difference...mind you it is one of those things that is so often hard to judge because you want them to be a majic wand...Dyno before mods and dyno again after mods is probably the fastest way to tell if they have made a difference.
