    ebay "T5" or "T10" globes.... there readily available. You local supercheap probably even has them

    Friendly tip:
    Don't use LEDS as a replacement for the T5 if you are using them for the Green background lighting of the entire cluster. You will be disappointed, they give a directional type of light, and you will end up with a very bright spot on one of the numbers, and the rest dull/faded looking. Don't forget, the Orange needles require a normal globe to work properly, as they use the side of a normal globe to light a Fibre Optic cable.
    T5 LED replacements are only any good if it is for a warning light, not a spread beam of light, like a normal globe gives off.

    T5 is the 5mm bulb inside. 286TW is the complete thing in 2w with holder. Other codes after the 286 for different wattages.

    It might have been AES (auto electrical spares) from the UK, bought at the same time I got a new lock barrell. But I can't find them. Great plan buying a box of spare bulbs but clearly I put them somewhere "special".

    When I stumble across them, I'll let you know. Including brand and model.

    Oh hang on. I can't find the bulbs, but I did find the order confirmation email.

    OSRAM 286TAC, 12v 1.2w T5 instrument panel light bulb
    10 @ GBP0.66 each.

    I found a couple of UK mobs online that do them for a decent price, but none of them will ship outside of UK.

    I have tried a couple that look like the 286TAC, (found them in an old Holden cluster I had lying around) however you may notice that they don't have the plastic 'clips' on alternate sides to the metal contact points like the 286TW seem to have (and the ones I've pictured)
    They don't seem to secure properly or work for me.

    Sign up for a shipping service. I have one that works out of both the US and UK.
    Brilliant for small parcels and even cost effective for things like radiators and intercoolers.

    I'll give those 286TAC a try as soon as I can find them. I've got plenty of spare dash clusters lying around.

    Ok found an easy and local option, should've tried them first. Rexpo/AutoOne stock/can order them in.

    Exclamation Diff problem

    Fitted a new starter battery over the weekend - yay for Repco 25% off weekend sale!
    Starts wonderfully.
    Yesterday I changed the oil in both the diffs (Penrite gear 80W90) - really should invest in a pump of some kind for this, as oil doesn't appreciate gravity feed through a hose

    Anyway, took the car out for a romp on the powerlines track. Not the best idea as my old highbeams aren't far off a standard car's headlights!

    Was pretty challenging going through the obstacles with plenty of water and sandy mud to slip around on. But I got stuck on an obstacle where the car couldn't pull itself out, just span the tyres.... then heard a clunk from the rear - I knew it had broken something. Reversed out, had a look underneath, and no visible damage. Figured it was probably a tooth from the diff.

    Started driving her back. Massive clunk from the rear, and stopped to find a trail of gear oil and this:


    After some head scratching, decided to limp her home as she was, pulling itself along with the front wheels. Was a few close calls where the front wheels didn't want to pull the car up steep hills, so had to use some handy driving and momentum to get it through.
    The car lost it's handbrake and also didn't want to drive anywhere properly without the diff lock on.



    So, now the car is sitting back in the driveway and obviously needs the rear diff replaced. Will post up some progress pics once I take it out, but does anyone have any advice here? I have access to a lot of spare Rangie parts, so a new diff/axle or whatever shouldn't be too much of an issue, however, is there anything I should do as a 'while it's out' mentality to help ensure this doesn't happen again?
    Or was this more related to the way I was driving the obstacle?
