    Buy OEM.

IME a cheap MAF is a wast of time an you by and large get what you pay for. I don't now anything about RR's so cant suggest a manufacturer. I once dabbled in a cheap MAF for a TD5, won't waste my cash again.

That's good news, if the MAF becomes dirty again then you will have to explore further.
Did you also swap the computer?

    Injectronics

There is a company that specialises in refurbishing car computers and other electronic equipment in cars just around the corner from my work. I've had the luck to have been given a tour of the place. I nearly bought a distributor from them for my 88 RRC.

It would be worth giving them a call as they specialise in this kind of thing if you have future problems.
