    Internal Rear View Mirror Removal

    Hi Guys,
    I am pulling the hood lining out of my recently acquired 73 RR and wanted to know how to remove the internal rear view mirror, I do not want to hurt it.
    Does anyone know how they come out?
    My old original workshop manual just says pull it out!

    They are TIGHT.

    From memory it's a heavy duty spring with something like a ball bearing on each end, that locks into the mirror base.

    Mine was a pig to remove, and I ended up damaging the rubber trying to pry it off. Yanking on it feels like you're gong to cave the roof in.

    Did you twist it clockwise or anti-clockwise, push it forward or pull it back?
