What offset rims do people generally run?
Hi there,
I'm looking at buying some offset rims and putting tires on them for my 88 Range Rover. I'm prepared to cut the guards to fit them (i'll probably use the template on this forum), eventually i'll fit flares. I have a 40mm suspension lift already.
I'm interested in the 285 75 (33X11.5) rather than the 305 70 (33X12) because that extra 1/2 inch will probably have a big impact on my turning circle.
Has anyone else done this. Please keep it simple as possible as i'm sure this could turn into a debate of opinion. I simply want to buy larger more aggressive tires to go up tracks.
The tires i've found so far are Silverstone MT-117 and Micky Thomson BAJA MTZ

-25 offset 16x8 rims, however you will need flares. I will be putting the same size on mine, but will be squeezing them onto 16x7 rims with less off set, I think it will involve a bit of stuffing around however.
If anyone else here thinks LRA are about 40% over priced for wheel arch flare kits (among other items) please see link below.
PM788 | 50mm Flexible Extended Arches for Disco 1 5dr and RR Classic 5dr - set of 4
They also do a 75mm set.
I know you get what you pay for, but getting ripped off is another thing entirely, I'm struggling to find the middle ground these days.
It is -25mm. The negative value moves the wheel mating surface (WMS) inwards from the wheel centreline which means the rim sits further out from the vehicle compared to a 0mm offset. A +25mm moves the WMS outwards in comparison to 0mm offset which brings the rim in closer to the vehicle. Im not sure what the standard offset is for the Rangie
Cheers
Slunnie
