92 vogue se Classic auto finally died
Well after 10 years of use , my 92 vogue auto transmission has died ! What to do ? Cars worth 3-4 k at best , it's in great shape save for some recent body work ( car park pole run in ) engine is sweet as , not a single oil leak , interiors good and as a second car it's great to have. Issue is a second hand reconditioned transmission is worth 3-4 k installed. So given this money , are there any suggestions on who where and what I should be putting into the car - I was pretty happy with the original , but would be keen to hear suggestions on a potential path to take. I'm not handy , so will pay for it to be done , so needs to be a professional job.

Hi Danske,
I just replaced mine about three months ago. Turned out my transfer case was nackered as well. Apparently quite common as soon as the auto goes. Mine cost about that; 4000 all up I'd say for the transmission and transfer case, I did however find a good condition second hand transmission.
It was a painful experience; took a fkn long time but I'm absolutely stoked with the cars performance now. It's so smooth and I love the car, (most of the time) so it would be a struggle to see it go.
Whatever route you choose I'd say you'd be spending 3-4 k minimum in any case, so might as well put back in what was meant to be.
Cheers,

Get one from a wrecked disco. Take the LT230 and driveshafts at the same time.
