Smile Headrest removal on a RRC

I just got some seat covers for my '92 RRC, and to fit them I need to remove the headrest. Easier said than done! It appears to be stuck and I can't lift it up even an inch! I understand that the headrest is usually held in place by a spring arm that locks itin three preset positions. I can't find any buttons or locks of any kind to release. Any advice on how to gettheheadrest out would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Pics of my '95 Classic.... - Assuming your '92 uses the same mechanism.

Yes, the 'top quality' RR English leather is'nt able to tolerate "sun" over 5 years or so, despite it's RRP price tag ...

I'd guess the spring/ball/whatever has rusted onto the shafts. NOT unexpected as RR never understood metal preparation or presentation the way Other Manufacturers do.

Dribble WD-40 down the shafts.... and pull even harder !
