    Windscreen Wipers

    Hi Guys,

the passenger side windscreen wiper has stopped working in my '85 Classic. I'm assuming something has come loose somewhere. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to access the wiper mechanism? Is it under the dash or the skuttle ?

    seeya,
    Shane L.

You can pull out those little plastic vents in the decker panel and have a look through there before you pull the decker off.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

Happened to the DS one on my 74 just last week.

Was prepared for the tedious task of removing the scuttle panel to fix, but removed the DS plastic grill and mesh to have a look first.

All the clips and arms were on and ok.

Took the DS wiper off it's pintle and therein lay the problem.............

the alloy cap had stopped gripping on the splines of the steel axle.

Superglue held it, but I drilled and pinned it just to be sure. Easy fix.

    cheers, DL

    Thanks Guys,

I'll take a look. LoveB, I'm amazed you can pick it's a CX from that tiny resolution avatar piccie. Like nearly every 25+ year old car, she needs a little tinkering and money spent on it. Just like the 'Classic, I'll get there in time.

    seeya,
