    I have the big tacho, not that it works as the alternator doesnt support it (I'm told) That said anything could have been changed before I got it. hell, there is 29 years of history that I know nothing about!

    Just about any alternator can be modified for LR tacho output. All you need is to open it up and solder an output wire to any one of the three main stator/diode junctions. This will run your tacho (via the white/grey wire), although the accuracy depends on having the correct pulley sizes.

    Too hard, I'm just grateful the alternator charges the battery! I'm not pulling it apart lol. I'll just listen to the engine and back off the RPM when it sounds like it is about to s*** itself!
