Mine were on flat bars across the front of the condenser. Attached to the body only.
I ditched then and wired the ac into my electric radiator fans. Works heaps better and less blocking of radiator air flow too.
My 2 condensor fans at the front of the car have been U/S for a couple of years, I have had 2 replacements for around the same time.
Today I had some time on my hands and I began to disassemble the front to put in the replacements, however it seems that the 2 top bolts of the fans are unreachable and the whole condensor unit has to come out meaning degassing and regassing.
Has anyone taken these fans out without removing the whole condensor unit?

Hi Richard
I did this about a year ago and dont remember having any issues. They were bolted to small flat bars that went across the front of the condensor to the body and not bolted through the condesnsor.
Was still a pain to do but was ok.
Mine is an 89 model and I think yours is later?
did they change the way it was done?

Hi Brad,
Mine is a 94 and there are 2 cross bars but they are in front of the fans which appear to be bolted to a framework which includes the condensor, its just the 2 top bolts are tucked up under the front cowling and extremely hard to get at.
I'll take a picture later.
Dougal: no there wasnt any rubbish in the condensor and I have replacing the visco fan with electric on the job sheet. Did you use the Ford ones?

I used corolla/corona fans, 2 of them, this was before I knew of the ford setup. That setup is on my 85. I will be changing everything around in my 93 at some time in the future, but I haven't been that far into the front. Only enough to replace the bonnet-latch cable.
My 93 hard-dash setup appears quite simlar to the 85, just later model fans. Is your 94 soft-dash?
Yes 94 soft dash
