Yes, another Land Rover product.
Just picked up a rough 1972 2-door Suffix A as a restoration project.
Can I hear raucous laughter?
When it is eventually completed I may even flip the low Km. Disco 2 Td5 that I have owned from new.
It is already bringing back fond memories of my '82 2-door which took us all over Oz with the kids in mid 80's.
That was a very capable vehicle and simple to fix compared to the electronics etc in the new models.Only problem with the lively V8 is that it would "pass everything except a petrol bowser".
That ended its days in a spectacular write-off in the hills around Dorrigo NSW in the mid 90's. Shame about the almost-new blueprinted, balanced, 4.2 stroker-cranked engine.
Fortunately I have the facilities (small factory w Hoist etc) and skills (been restoring stuff for 50 years) to get this one up to speed.
For now I will park it in the corner whilst I collect some bits and assess the work. I think this will take a while.
Nearest thing to a Japanese 4wd I have ever owned was an Isuzu powered 110 County....Hmmm guess which bit never gave any trouble?..didn't leak..etc etc.
Anyway I hope we eventually see another 2-door back in action.
I intend keeping this one.
Cheers
Bob

Good luck Mate I seem to be doing the same, I want an easy to maintain car that won't cost the earth to fix........
Or should I have gone somewhere else![]()

Don't Follow Me, I'm in a "Land Rover", You WON'T make it.
aut viam inveniam aut faciam
Fantastic Bob, well done.
It's great to see a few loonies on the path ( apologies to Floyd, BTW, which one's Pink!)
Suffix A is about the best a man can get in this country.
The 2 doors are the ticket. New owners are popping up, especially the last month, for similar reasons. Owned or drove one long ago, yearning for the simpler days, mid life crisis ( what a bottler of a story to use), etc.
Mine's a SuffixD 1975.
Plenty of stuff the early cars had, not applicable to later examples, as I'm finding out.
All the best with it and if a novice like myself can help out, I will.
Same sentiment to DiscoDan too.
Cheers,
Richard
