@phantomwiz I haven't done the numbers since the last rebuild, so I can't really tell you with any certainty. I do know that it's no longer billowing black smoke out the tailpipe and/or constantly fouling plugs.

@plr my 87 classic starts and runs quite happily with the afm multi-plug disonnected, i'm not sure why, but it definitely doesn't have any power to move, not sure where it's getting the fuel from but it definitely starts and runs without it

    G`day ,

yours may run with it disconnected but it shouldn`t , unless your saying it starts , runs and stops because of the residual pressure in the system .

One reason is that if the engine isn`t running the fuel pump won`t pump .

The reason for this is a safety measure as in if unlucky and turn it upside down or hit something solid ETC , the ignition can be on but as long as the ECU doesn`t register running engine the pump won`t run and this comes from the AFM .

It may be that your system was altered when it had lpg or when it was removed .

Entirely possible, Sprint really screwed the pooch on this one, I've gotta strip the dash n fix a lot more than I first anticipated, one electrical system failing after another.

Back to the OP though, I've done the numbers on the last fill up. Approx 22L per hundred atm, but I've got it tuned rich atm, I'm leaning it off bit by bit until I'm happy with it. For the time being I'm only doing school runs, so urban driving, lots of starting and stopping, and the thermo fans are still manual. I'll be replacing the switch in the thermostat housing soon so they'll be automatic again. So a rich tune, fans constantly cooling the engine (plus extra load on the alternator), not to mention cool engine + ecu =rich mixture, urban driving and a heavy foot, no wonder I'm doing as bad as I am, have him leaned off soon enough

Just topped up again today so have a new figure.

A weeks worth of school runs and a little bit of motorway driving. Using thermo fans as little as possible, I got just over 19L per hundred k's
