Why so much lift for only 33s or even 35s?
2.5" body lift is crazy IMHO.
Just stick with the current springs, add 33 inch tyres, cut guards and be happy.

Ashcroft LSD for LT230 is not an option as the vehicle does not have an LT230 fitted. Even if it was its not required.

Sounds liek your pretty keen to get this vehicle regardless, so just grab it and drive it for a couple of months as I suggested earlier before you do anything.

    Rangie suspension

    3 words- keep it simple.

Have found through experience and through what other people have done to there classics over time that simple is best. A 2 inch lift is ample unless you want to go rock crawling, same in the body lift department but 33 inch tyres with some trimming will be more than enough.

Rover diffs have a hate-on for big tyres so keep that in mind when you go bigger. Luckily Rover diff centres are cheap just inconvenient when stranded on the side of a track

Castor is dependant on how it feels. Had 2 inch lifts on a lot of Rangies, some handle well some are awful. Dunno why but that's how it goes I guess.

yeah spoke to british offroad and shane at suspension stuff and decided on simple for now the 2'' springs that are in and if the shocks need replacing 3or 4 inch shocks with dropout cones bullbar winch sliders 33s trimming if needed and disco diffs if i break the stock stuff maybe a body lift in future or 3-4"flexy springs
    see how it goes

    Dislocation cones are rubbish.

First get it and drive it. Your needs will then become clear.

    Good to hear Scoundrel.

Don't waste your time with drop out cones, retain the springs, you can do the uppers with hose clamps or even zip/cable ties.

And the lowers already have a retainer but it can bend as its fairly thin. Aftermarket options are available.

Again once you have the vehicle your more then welcome to visit and turn over further ideas.
I am not gonna sit here & tell you to keep it stock, but I certainly think driving it as is for a couple of months is in your best interest!

beg borrow or steal a set of 7.50 R16 mud tyres, chuck them on a stock standard Rangie and see how far it will go. You'll be very surprised. Then assess what you need to mod it.

Won't need to steal them lol Thanks for reminding me
What are opinions on rag tires just out of curiosity because my old man has a set of 7.5016 under the house (just reminded me about them) they are pretty aggressive looking pattern fair bit of tread as they were only on his truck for 5-6 months before he scraped it (gearbox died and he needed more seats)
